November, ah, the pumpkin pie and turkey and family gatherings. Ah, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and shopping and beginning of the Christmas season. Ah, the novel writing.
November is National Novel Writing Month! NaNoWriMo, as it is called by participants, is a month-long trek into the wilds of fiction writing. A quest for 50,000 words in the course of one month. A literary adventure!
And so, here at The Rotund, you will find entries that are segments of a novel. A novel, probably in the chick lit genre, focusing on a fat female main character. She’s not going to get skinny at the end and she’s not going to spend 45,000 of her allotted 50k words bemoaning her fat. She’s going to be fat and happy and, dammit, that’s just how it is.
So if you see an entry, which will probably be cut, that doesn’t seem to make any sense, check out the tags and read back from the beginning of the story. Then let me know how you think things are going!
