And, you know, it makes just as much sense as the usual version. *grin*
Y’all did know that Burda Style has released its first true plus-size pattern, yes?
There are a lot of people on the site begging Burda to release it in smaller sizes. Because, wah, they have so few from which to choose.
Okay, that was petty. But, really, now they know how fat women feel about the plethora of cute patterns that don’t come in OUR sizes.
So, question:
To what depth of unfatshionable (it really is a great word) would I sink if I made a festive holiday skirt from a tree skirt?
Like, a tacky one that I wore with, possibly, a very full crinoline and fishnets and stompy boots.
Because, y’all? I love Christmas in a totally unironic and yet still nonreligious fashion. I love decorating – in fact I just bought my first decoration of the season- and I love buying presents for people and wrapping them in awesome paper with big awesome bows and I love singing Christmas carols.
And I have always, since I was a small child, wanted to make a skirt from a tree skirt. It has never worked out for me to do so but this year? Might just be the year.
Kate Harding has thrown down the gauntlet. I answer it. With kittens.
(Yes, that is the same cat as in the second picture. He used to live with me (I kept him for an ex-boyfriend and then, when the ex didn’t want him back – or the other cat that I was keeping – I gave them to a good friend of mine who could take care of them better), until I could not longer keep three cats in a 500-sq-ft apartment. I think he is a super-photogenic cat.
Fillyjonk gave you puppies, I give you kittens.

These are all kittens from Peter Hasselbom’s Flickr page.
